It's been 50 years since ZIPPO produced the last Steel Black Crackle lighter in Bradford, Pennsylvania. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of the war, the lighter is now returning in a limited edition - there are only 40,000 pieces worldwide.
Due to the shortage of materials, the 1941 model was not made of brass, but had a steel case. Back then this step was taken out of necessity, today to pay homage to VE Day (“Victory in Europe Day). Accordingly, this ZIPPO also has a steel case with a black crackle finish, in which a VE / VJ-Day logo has been laser-engraved, which makes the ZIPPO a piece of history that you can always carry with you.
The Steel Black Crackle lighter comes in an exclusive special packaging that contains, among other things, a refined steel plate with the dates of the Victory Days and an information booklet.
